Hatton CLC awarded $10,000 grant
GAR Foundation recently awarded the elementary school a $10,000 grant to bring more plants into the school, including four hydroponic tower gardens with Grow Lights, five grow towers to have one per classroom, dried flowers for making sachets, journals for very student in the school and more.

Finding happier holidays
As Thanksgiving arrives next week, many of us start to eagerly look forward to weeks of cherished family traditions and holiday pageantry. While holidays are joyous occasions, the preparation, execution and travel can be overwhelming for all of us. For many families, these holidays are challenging events, from finding financial resources to anniversaries of loved ones passing, divorces and other family difficulties. In addition, the holiday commotion can be evocative for those with sensory and other needs. Still, with some planning ahead and mindfulness, we can all find happier holidays and enjoy the splendor of the season, regardless of what we celebrate. Turkey and Trimmings Giveaway -Good Samaritan will hold its annual giveaway Nov. 25 from 12:30-6:30 p.m. at Joy Park Community Center (825 James Ingram Way). There will be turkeys and trimmings for 600 families, first come first serve. Learn more.
Feed the 5,000 - Community members can receive FREE food Nov. 23 from 12-3 p.m. at Remedy Church (1700 Brittain Rd.). METRO RTA is offering free rides to and from the event. Learn more.

Grand reopening of Lock 3 - The reopening celebration will take place Nov. 29, immediately following the Welcome Santa parade at 6:00 p.m. Enjoy music, ice carving, visits with The Grinch and Santa, ice skating and more. Learn more.
